On Monday, GFK Marketing Services reported that Japanese Animation is still responsible for over 50% of the money spent on Blu-Ray Discs in Japan. The survey also states that the Blu-Ray Disc has been able to maintain a stable growth in sales, and has reached 8.4 Billion Yen (about $89 Million USD) on 1.37 million Blu-Ray Discs during the six-month period. While we are on the topic, DVD sales have dropped 15%, sadly the Blu-Ray Disc was not able to recover for all of the DVD sale losses, but still goes to show that Anime and Blu-Ray still rain supreme in Japan. Anime On Blu-Ray A Big Hit In Japan
